You have determined the core root of the problem you have been dealing with for a long time, determined what God says about it, and have prayerfully considered what He wants you to do. You now have a plan.
You may have learned that God wants you to lovingly speak to someone about stopping their gossiping about you. He may want you to say “no” to yet another request at work. You might need to speak to an employee about a policy or procedure to which they are not adhering. Maybe, you need to decide to talk to your boss about something you do not agree with. God could be asking you to love a person who is saying unkind things about you and not actually take any action at this time. He may want you to be loving in the storm and thereby this is how He calms the storm you are in.
This is the time where you may also be praying for courage. There are a number of things you can do to persevere through this time as you desire to do what God wants you to do. Don’t ever give up. With God, you have everything you need to succeed in doing in His Will.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love, support, encouragement, wisdom and guidance. Thank You that You do not want me to be fearful, distressed or anxious. Thank You for providing all I need to get “unstuck” from a certain way of doing things or a certain way of viewing things. Lord, please help me persevere in doing what You want me to do. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
Monday: In the past, you may have tried to deal with a difficult situation on your own. Remember, God is always with you. Write out a prayer of thankfulness for what He has done and what He is going to do.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 NIV
Tuesday: As you deal with a difficult situation or take that next step, stay close to His Word. What are some of your favorite verses which give you strength and courage as you prepare to take your next step? Put them somewhere you will regularly see them.
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 ESV
Wednesday: In the situation you are facing, what are the key biblical principles about what to do and how to do it? Stay close to these principles and review them often to give you strength and perspective.
“But He’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, and don’t take yourself too seriously—take God seriously.” Micah 6:8 MSG
Thursday: We sometimes don’t realize how stressed we have become until we start to take a healthier approach to life. This healthier approach can also give us the strength, stamina and “clear-headedness” to do what we need to do. What can you be doing, that you are not already doing, to have a healthier work/life balance: sleep longer, eat better, exercise more, less TV and social media, have a massage, etc? What is one thing you can start doing today?
“Don’t you yourselves know that you are God’s temple and that the Spirit of God lives in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16 CSV
Friday: Stay close to supportive people who care about you. As you deal with a difficult situation, limit your time with “difficult” people. Spend time with people who have a positive outlook, are encouraging you to succeed, and can provide healthy, practical feedback. Who comes to mind?
“One who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harms.” Proverbs 13:20 NIV
