Last week, we reflected on two main themes in the area of being led by God in our everyday lives. Being led by God meant asking God to search our hearts (Psalm 139:23-24) and to do what He requires of us (Micah 6:8). What a wonderful summary of walking step by step, by faith, with God.
If you have had a crazy week, then you may not have had the opportunity to consider a stress you are having at work, and how to work through it. If that is the case, then I hope you will go back to last week’s memo and consider the Monday to Friday suggestions about these two themes from God’s Word. You may have started it but have not finished the five reflections, and/or feel you want to further meditate on the issue and/or what God is requiring of you. This can become an ongoing process for any specific issue you are currently dealing with as He leads you to overcome it. If you have already gone through this, and are ready to take on a specific principle, then you are all set to go with this week’s memo!
See the summary below for a review what it means to “do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with your God.”
Dear Heavenly Father: Thank You for Your amazing love, Your Word and Your faithfulness. Forgive me when I have taken these gifts for granted, have not taken the time to know You and love You more, and/or have not taken steps to grow more in my faith walk with You. Please search my heart for any barriers to a closer and closer walk with You and please lead me in the way everlasting. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Monday: Whether we are business owners, managers, colleagues, family members and/or neighbors, Proverbs 3:27 applies to all of us. Consider God’s Word: “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.” What does this verse mean to you?
Tuesday: As you consider Proverbs 3:27, does someone at work, in your family, in your volunteering capacity and/or social circle come to mind? What was (or is) the situation?
Wednesday: Ask God to search your heart regarding the person and the situation where you feel you have withheld something good when it was possible for you to do something.
Thursday: Looking at the situation and what God has revealed to you, ask Him to give you wisdom on how you can do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with Him in this situation.
Friday: Every situation is uniquely individual as we ask God to reveal things to us. Also uniquely individual is the response God will provide. Perhaps you are thinking about a situation and the person is no longer in your life. He will show you how you can still apply this principle. There is always an opportunity to do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with God. The fact you are turning to God indicates you are walking humbly with Him. One of the joys of being a follower of Christ is seeing how a personal situation is dealt with by a loving God who loves us personally. Ask Him for wisdom on how you can still do justice and show love kindness.
Have a wonderful week!
