“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against You.” Psalm 119:11
Do you sometimes find yourself searching for an important piece of information? A receipt you need in order to return an item? A list of vaccinations you need to send to your child’s school? A past email that holds a number you need, or a legal document you are looking for? You waste time and energy searching. You realize you could potentially miss a deadline or opportunity if you do not find what you are looking for. If you just had a proper storage and retrieval system, you would have been able to readily and easily access the information, so you could use it for its intended purpose, which would have made your search go very smoothly.
A proper filing system allows you to store important information for future use and also be able to retrieve it when you need it. It is crucial for every business.
“The mouths of the righteous utter wisdom, and their tongues speak what is just. The law of their God is in their hearts; their feet do not slip.” (Psalm 37:30-31)
How do you think you are doing in this area when at work? Do you feel you are able to readily remember God’s Word, and therefore apply His principles, when dealing with conflict, difficult conversations or difficult decision making? Or, do you think you need to improve your storage of His Word in your heart to be able to readily apply it to your actions and speech.
“Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.” (Deuteronomy 11:18)
One way to improve in this area is to memorize God’s Word. Memorizing scripture will lead to His Word being more active in our lives. His Word, His principles and His Commandments are written for our good and for the good of others. When we memorize them, and therefore, write them in our hearts, we can easily bring them to our thoughts and speech and allow them to guide us in what to do and say.
This week, make a decision to memorize verses which God will then bring to your mind and your heart when you need them. Start to see how quickly you will be able to see them come to life in your life because you stored them in your heart where they were waiting to be used.
Have a great week!
