One of my favorite things to say when I speak to someone trying to decide on whether or not they should do something is “Yes means No.” They often give me a puzzled look as it does not appear to make sense. However, we need to count the cost of time when we consider taking on something new. That time needs to come from somewhere. As we have 24 hours per day, if time is taken for something new, what is time being taken away from?
Over the past few months of COVID-19, if you own or manage a business, your way of doing things has likely been turned upside down. You may be spending longer days than usual on your business and, although you may not recognize it or admit it, you are likely somewhat exhausted. Exhausted – physically, mentally, emotionally and possibly spiritually.
The rest you need will give you physical strength to continue to work on your business, mental focus to make intelligent decisions, emotional well-being to ensure decisions are based on information and knowledge (and not how you might be feeling at the time) and spiritual joy to lift you up and shine through to others.
