As a business owner, I am constantly seeking to know, and apply, what is current in my profession, the best way of looking after my staff and patients and the best way of dealing with challenging situations. And, there is no doubt that COVID-19 has brought many changes to how we deal with our everyday lives, whether at home or at work. How are you doing with all that has been happening in 2020? What are you finding to be the most challenging? Are you seeking God for what you need?
As a Physiotherapist, I give a lot of exercises to my patients. However, I understand our bodies’ need for a rest, as we cannot be exercising all the time. We need a break between exercise sessions or we are at risk for injury. We need to give our muscles some rest between workouts so they can repair and be ready for exercise again. We can actually equate this exercise analogy to all we are dealing with in 2020.
Are you working all the time? Your mind and body need some rests. Although you may not want to admit it, do you think you are ready for a bit of a rest? Maybe a rest from working so hard or caring so hard. Those things are good things to do, and what God wants us to do, for ourselves and for others. However, it is important to have a rest in between our responsibilities as well so we can have the energy to do what we need to do. Time for us to repair our hearts, minds and bodies to return to what He wants us to do. He also wants us to regularly take a step back and seek Him in the midst of what is going on. When we do that, He will provide what we need.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10
Wednesday: Looking for peace? Seek God
“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27
Thursday: Looking for rest? Seek God
“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
Friday: Looking for answers? Seek God.
“But seek first His kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33
Promise to Ponder:
When you are seeking God: you will find Him. He is actually looking to see if you are seeking Him. Psalm 53:2 tells us:
“God looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.”
