“…the storm subsided, and all was calm.” Luke 8:2
Over the past week, I hope you have had the opportunity to take time, quietly before God, to ask Him to reveal to you if there is an attitude He wants you to reflect on and/or if there is a step He wants you to take. If you have not had adequate time yet to reflect and meditate on this, then take this week to be still before God and talk to Him about this very circumstance.
If so, take time this week to reflect on the power of the Holy Spirit and His role in your life. The Holy Spirit is our Helper. God has given the Holy Spirit to us as a gift. He is our Counsellor and the Spirit of Truth. Consider what the bible says about Him, and be encouraged and empowered.
“I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that He will receive what He will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is Mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from Me what He will make known to you.” John 16: 12-16
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love and faithfulness. Thank You for the Holy Spirit, who is my Helper and Guide for all circumstances. I want to do what is honoring to You. I recognize that I have not yet been able to resolve this situation. I need Your guidance and help. Please show me what I need to do and how to do it. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Monday: Write down what you believe God has revealed to you to do.
“If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help.” James 1:5 MSG
Tuesday: What comes to your mind and heart as you think about addressing it?
“When the Friend comes, the Spirit of the Truth, He will take you by the hand and guide you into all the truth there is.” John 16:12 MSG
Wednesday: Read carefully and prayerfully about the character and role of the Holy Spirit. Write down the one(s) that touch your heart and mind.
“The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at My request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you.” Jesus, John 14:26 MSG
Thursday: Reflect on the attribute(s) of the Holy Spirit which you wrote down yesterday. How do they relate to what you think God wants you to do?
“…In God is hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Colossians 2:2-3 NIV
Friday: How has the knowledge of the Holy Spirit strengthened you as you go through the process of dealing with the stress in your life? It may be to give you confidence, or practical steps. Write down what you feel God has just revealed to you and how it applies to your decision making on what to do next.
“Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding.” Proverbs 3:13 NIV
May God richly bless you as you commit to honoring Him as you deal with what you need to deal with.
Have a wonderful week!
