“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. “ Psalm 139: 23-24
As you ask God to search your heart, you may see answers quite quickly and sometimes not. You may see how God is working and sometimes it may not be apparent. Know deep in your heart, when you ask God to search your heart, He will answer and be faithful. Know that He is working everything out and will lead you in the way everlasting. And, He knows what that means for you.
What does the Lord require of you as you ask Him to search your heart? What does He require of you in your everyday decisions, actions, interactions and conversations? He has told us very clearly what He requires of us in Micah 6:8:
“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word, which provides all that we need. Thank You for the depth of Your love, the depth of Your wisdom and the depth of Your faithfulness. Help me to understand what it means to do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with You in my every day situations. Please give me the wisdom to know, and do, what You say is good to do. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Monday: Write down the issue you have asked God to search your heart about.
Tuesday: Write out a prayer about the issue you are dealing with and ask God to search your heart in the area of doing justice, loving kindness and walking humbly with Him.
Wednesday: How does doing justice apply to the stress you are dealing with? Is there something God is revealing to you that He wants you to do?
Thursday: How does loving kindness apply to the stress you are dealing with? Is there something God is revealing to you about this?
Friday: How does walking humbly with God apply to the stress you are dealing with? Is there something God is revealing to you about this? Jot it down and reflect upon what He is saying.
Have a wonderful week!
